I would like to congratulate the Messenger of Allah, his Ahl-ul-Bayt (as), the Leader of the Muslim world, our righteous scholars, the followers of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (as) and all human beings on the birth anniversary of the Proof of Allah, the living Hujjah, the Imam of our time, the 12th vicegerent of the Final Messenger of Allah (s).

Indeed he will bring the East and the West of the world to justice and he will establish equality where there is discrimination.

Our responsibilities during the Imam’s occultation:

The one who is waiting and preparing himself for the appearance of the Imam must have the character and merits of the companions of Imam al-Mahdi (atfs).

Imam Ja’far ibn Muhammad as-Sadiq (as) said:
“A person who would like to be among the companions of al-Qa’im should be in a state of (active) waiting (Intizar)…
…and perform all of his deeds with Wara [a level higher than Taqwa] and with the most beautiful etiquette and then one will be counted as being in a state of (true) waiting (Intizar)”.

In another tradition Imam Ja’far ibn Muhammad as-Sadiq (peace be upon both of them) said:
“Surely the possessor of this command (Imam al-Mahdi) will go into an occultation

“So the servant should have God-consciousness (Taqwa of Allah) during the period of the occultation and should hold firm to his religion.”

Waiting for the advent of the Imam with patience is a form of worship.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) has said:
“Awaiting the opening (relief) with patience is a (form of) worship”

We should pray to Allah that He may include us among his companions and grant us the reward of those who will be with him.

Though we are waiting, we cannot sit passively while the world is full of oppression. We have to pave the way for him to fill the earth with justice.

Looking at the state of the world, we can see the enemies of Islam and humanity are trying to tarnish the image of Islam.

The world is accusing Islam for the crimes committed by it’s foes. These enemies of humanity promote themselves as the champions of peace and justice while they create havoc in the world in the name of democracy. Islam denounces the oppression done against all those innocent people in the world,

Islam is love and compassion. It wants to free the humans from all forms of slavery.

The arrogant people wish to enslave the followers of true Islam.

The terms freedom, peace, love, democracy, and equality are all being frequently used nowadays in the world, but these words have lost their meaning. Injustice, oppression, racism, bigotry and discrimination are ruling this world.

The reappearance of the Imam is a promise of Allah, a glad tiding to mankind, and a promise to the oppressed of the world. Imam Ja’far ibn Muhammad as-Sadiq (as) said:

“When al-Qa’im makes his advent, not a single place of land will remain except that the call to the testimony of, ‘there is no creature worthy of worship except for Allah and indeed Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah’ will be given (there).”

We should look at ourselves and analyze our actions and our way of life. Are we ready to welcome him?

If we are working to pave the way for his reappearance, are we helping the oppressed people of the world? Are we trying to establish justice in the world? Are we walking on the path of the Ahlulbayt (as)?

If we are fulfilling our responsibility, we may not be there to see his advent but we will not be deprived of the reward of Allah.

As mentioned by Imam Ja’far ibn Muhammad as-Sadiq (as):
“The person from among you who dies while awaiting this command [the advent of Imam al-Mahdi]
…is like a person who was with al-Qa’im in his camp …
…no rather, he would be like a person who was fighting (after his appearance from occultation) along-side him with his sword (against injustice)…
…no rather, by Allah, he would be like the person who attained martyrdom along-side the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family).”

May Allah help us to become true followers of the Ahlulbayt and true companions of the Imam of our time, May God hasten his appearance.
